First Day on Pointe

So today I had my first real beginner pointe class.

We only actually did pointe work for about 15 minutes – which I was okay with. Man was I hurting!!

First we started out with some ankle exercises. Then we did lots of “forced arch” exercises. Going from plié to demi pointe to pointe to straight legs to demi and so on and so forth. Finally we finished up with some bourees across the bar. I lost my balance a couple of times but that’s okay. It was only my first time.

But man it hurt REALLY bad!! My big toes were killing me when I got finished. And they’ve been hurting all day. If my toe nails aren’t bruised already, they will be soon!!

Who knew 15 minutes could do that to you?!?
